When I started this journey, I named it Living with AI - because like many parents, I wanted my kids to understand the digital world they are growing up in (and I asked my daughter to draw me a logo with that name š).Ā
But eventually, along the way, I've learned that Draw the Line is the perfect name for what I would like to achieve. It's still about helping kids and families thrive alongside AI, but it's also about protecting childhood, setting boundaries with technology, and making space for our kids to stay human.Ā
My daughter drew this cute logo with our grey cockatiel pet in it (his name is Phoenix ā¤ļø).Ā
Draw the Line collaborates on projects and efforts that promote the responsible use of AI among children, while nurturing and preserving their unique human skills.Ā
VISION
Draw the Line mobilises the global shift from an outdated life-career education toward a system that nurtures children with life-skills in the age of AI.
MISSION
At Draw the Line, we believe the future belongs to children who can use AI wisely while staying rooted in their unique human strengths. Our mission is to help them strike that balance through educational materials, workshops, and community engagement.
OUR KIDS' FUTURE OF WORK
In searching for answers about our kids' future of work, I have found:
The truth is stark:Ā
We do NOT even know what most of the jobs our kids (Gen Alpha) will end up doing. Part of thatās because of the gig economyāwhere companies hire freelancers or short-term workersābut it also shows just how much the way we work is changing overall. Just think about the huge changes weāve seen over the past 10 years ā especially with social media, automation, and AI - and then think about the expected change by 2030 as in the Future of Jobs Report by WEF.
Not only their jobs donāt yet exist, our kids are likely to have dozens of jobs and multiple distinct careers throughout their life.Ā And of course, it means we have no idea what these jobs are and what these careers are either.
Whatās more?Ā
We do not know as much about technology as our kids do. In many ways, obviously they are more intuitive with technology than we are. Gen Alpha born 2010 to 2025 are considered digital natives because they were born and raised in a fully digital world. Recently, they soon will become āAI nativesā. We are NOT! (U50 like me).
Whatās even worse?Ā
As parents, we are expected to guide our kids.šš Ā
But there is also another interesting truth:
According to recent studies, while our kids will need AI and digital literacy to succeed, the skills that will truly set them apart - the ones that will ensure they are not replaced by AI - are deeply human skills.
OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
When I found the answers as above, I tried to sit my daughter down for a "lesson" about it. She looked at me, sighed, and said, "Mum, this is boooooring. Can you make it fun?" š„³.
So, here we are! These are my gifts to my kids - and to you and your wonderful kids. And I am excited to have your family join this journey š.Ā
Draw the Line provides workshops on the following topics:
For parents/adults: Artificial Intelligence & the future of work - What are the Essential Skills Our Kids (and Ourselves) Can't Afford to Lose?
For kids: AI Incursion: Artificial Intelligence & Kids - Are you learning to master AI? or is AI going to master you?
Collaborates on projects and efforts to raise awareness about using AI wisely for kids, parents and communities
The most rewarding moment of running this workshop (photos above) came afterwards, when the Principal asked the kids during Assembly about their favourite experience of the term. One kid answered, āThe AI incursion.ā Hearing that truly made my day!Ā
Some of the feedback from grade 5 & 6 š
These four workbooks extend learning beyond the screens. They are packed with tasks, outdoor challenges, and riddles. They are structured as one-year program, allowing kids to gradually build these essential human skills (also named soft skills, life skills, transferable skills) while having fun through hands-on activities, observations, and self-reflection.Ā

This video was made while testing these workbooks and AI mates. After the shoot, Anna and Billie spent hours drawing and playing with the workbooks, which made me so happy for this first trial. The voiceover was done by my daughterāI tested different AI tools, but for now, a human voice still feels livelier.
How about the song in this video? Yes, 100% AI-created: music, lyrics, and vocals.Ā And yes, mastering AI tools is no doubt a must in this age!Ā
But how about the AI boom's latest job winners (left)? Isn't this the strangest job ad ever?Ā OpenAI is paying someone nearly USD400K to post content in 2025 instead of using ChatGPT. The most advanced AI companies still need someone who understands the messy, complex nature of human and translate that into content that actually resonates.Ā
Hence instead of rushing to master every new tool, sometimes the best strategy (that I am so happy to confirm here) is not forgetting to slow down and let kids be kids, to be human-savvy. The activities that may seem āold-fashionedā, āoutdatedā, or even a "waste of time" turn out to be the most valuable training for their future: observe nature on a walk, play a musical instrument .....Ā
"I Let Her Be" is the above song written and sung by AI but also made by me - a mum - " I pause the race - and let her be".Ā š¶š
There were nights I found myself awake, rushing to my computer to test the limits of AI. The results were equal parts awe-inspiring and unsettling. On one hand, I was amazed by its power; on the other, I felt a profound responsibility to prepare young minds for the challenges ahead.Ā
AI Mates, true to its name, came to life during those quiet, late-night moments when I discovered the joy of co-creating educational resources for kids with my AI companion, ChatGPT.Ā
This book features four interconnected yet stand-alone stories, each offering lessons for young readers about understanding and engaging with AI while also equipping parents with key takeaways to support their journey:
Foundation of Cooperation ā "AI Story Games"
This story introduces kids to the concept of working alongside AI in a playful, engaging way. It establishes a positive foundation, showing how AI can be a helpful and creative tool.
Voice and Identity ā "The Lost Stories of Story Town"
Building on cooperation, this story emphasises the importance of maintaining oneās voice and individuality in interactions with AI. It teaches kids to stay true to themselves while leveraging AI creatively.
Critical Evaluation ā "Missing Kangaroo"
Once kids understand how to collaborate and stay authentic, they learn to assess AI outputs critically. This story empowers them to question what they see and ensure the information they encounter is trustworthy and accurate.
Avoiding Manipulation ā "The Influencer Illusion"
The final story addresses the subtle dangers of AI manipulation. It helps children recognise when technology influences their choices and teaches them to think independently in an AI-driven world.
These discussion-led stories allow kids and parents to explore important topics at their own pace.Ā
One personalised colouring book is also provided to allow kids to add their personal touch through colouring and drawing AI mates.
Enjoy!
